ドラクエIIIを始めるときに、おれは生まれて初めてのRPGだからちゃんとやろうと思って、A4のコピー用紙にえんぴつで地図を描き始めて、ロマリアの地形とか洞窟の位置とかがんばって描いて、でも冒険を進めていくごとにA4の紙じゃ足りなくなって。で、しょうがないから紙を増やしながら進めていって、紙を32枚くらいつなげたときに「うわ！これ世界じゃん！」て気づいたときの衝撃は今も鮮やかに心に残っている。
